This yearling son of the up-and-coming sire Wrote is a definitive classic 3-year-old type. His sire, Wrote, hails from the world-famous stallion family of Sadler’s Wells, Nureyev, and Fairy King. He has enjoyed significant success this season, with multiple Australian group winner Wrote to Arataki being a highlight. This colt is out of a Fastnet Rock mare, Wild Rock, who was unraced. However, her first foal has been a winner in the elite racing jurisdiction of Hong Kong. Our colt is the second foal, making him the offspring of a young mare, which is always a positive. The dam’s sire, Fastnet Rock, is one of the world’s best stallions, having achieved tremendous success in both Europe and Australia, a feat only the elite 0.1% of stallions achieve. Fastnet Rock has commanded service fees higher than $200,000. In these sales, finding value is key, and I believe having a dam out of a great sire is just as important as the stallion himself.
I anticipate that we will see the best of this horse as a three-year-old at classic distances. However, running as a two-year-old in the autumn is definitely a possibility. There is some speed in this family, with the second dam, Wild Storm, being a multiple group winner from distances of 1200-1500m. Therefore, he may very well be competitive at shorter distances
