WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HER PEDIGREE

An outstanding buy from one of the Northern Hemisphere’s most exciting young sires—who is already making a serious impact down under.

Her pedigree is rated a famous 20/20 match according to G1 Goldmine. She has the same Shamardal/Fastnet Rock cross as superstar sprinters Santa Ana Lane and Gytrash.

Blue Point (Shamardal) stands for €100,000 ($185,000 NZD) at the world-famous Darley Stud in Kildangan, Ireland, owned by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum.

Despite being only a second-season sire, Blue Point has wasted no time proving his class. He is the sire of Rosallion, the best three-year-old miler in Europe, a triple Group 1 winner. His son Big Evs is England’s top sprinter, winning the Group 1 Champions Sprint as a three-year-old on Champions Day. Across the Atlantic, he has already produced a Breeders’ Cup winner in Kind of Blue.

His influence isn’t just felt in the Northern Hemisphere. Down under, he has already sired Bosustow, who stormed home to win the $3,000,000 Magic Millions 3YO Guineas in January. In February, Bosustow stepped up against open-class sprinters in the Group 1 BCD Sprint at Te Rapa, running a gallant second while finishing ahead of New Zealand’s best three-year-old, Savaglee.

Hear it from Darley Stud themselves:

"What a first crop: sire of the best three-year-old miler – triple G1 winner Rosallion – and Timeform’s top-rated three-year-old G1 sprinters, Kind Of Blue and Big Evs. Joins an elite handful to have sired three major G1 winners so early in their career: Sadler’s Wells, Rainbow Quest, Montjeu, and Sea The Stars."

THE BROODMARE SIRE – FASTNET ROCK

No discussion of this filly’s pedigree would be complete without mentioning her broodmare sire, Fastnet Rock, a name well known to many Inspire Racing owners.

The greatest broodmare sire in the Southern Hemisphere, Fastnet Rock currently leads the Australian Broodmare Sires Premiership by a staggering $5 million, with total earnings of $23 million (as of March 2, 2025). His daughters have already produced 12 stakes winners this season, and last season they produced 19 individual stakes winners, racking up 37 stakes victories in total.

Her bloodlines are as elite as they come. She is bred in the purple, carrying the genes of two world-class sprinters.

Broodmare Sire: Fastnet Rock

PHYSICAL SPECIMEN & RACING DISTANCE

From a physical standpoint, she ticks every box. Our bloodstock agent rated her action as exceptional, and she is of good size, with the strength and athleticism to suggest she will be an early runner. All indications are that she could be up and racing as soon as next summer.

With New Zealand’s significant prizemoney increases in two-year-old races, she has a wealth of lucrative opportunities ahead. Should she achieve black type success, she will be in high demand post-racing as a broodmare prospect, offering exceptional resale potential to breeders.

Her sire, Blue Point, was a top-class racehorse from two to five years of age, while her dam sire, Fastnet Rock, was outstanding as both a two-year-old and three-year-old. She has the scope for improvement and profiles as a filly best suited to races between 1,000m and 1,600m—a perfect range for major New Zealand features such as the Ellerslie Sires’ Produce Stakes, Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes, and the Guineas races in the Spring.

She has all the credentials to succeed—pedigree, physique, and an abundance of untapped potential.
